Fram Ultra XG12060? So is the XG10060 not the correct one?

10060 is equivalent to PF48 which has 15psi bypass spec
12060 is equivalent to PF64 which has the 22psi bypass spec Both LT1 and LT4 use the PF64 so you need to use the 22 PSI bypass spec filter(12060) https://www.corvetteactioncenter.com...rint-1363.html |

You may be correct, but Fram has had so many QC problems over the the years, including oil filters that would pop off engines, that I won't ever trust one.

every company has failures that make it through their QC. Otherwise this forum would be way less active since much of the posts are about something wrong with their camaro and if everyone stopped buying a product because 1 instance of it was bad, nobody would be able to drive any cars. Considering the number of filters fram sells, I'd imagine the % of failures is well in line with any other company you would be using. That and each line of filter isn't even made by the same "manufacturer" ...these big companies contract out actually making their products most of the time, which can change even one year to the next within the same product line. I've never heard bad things regarding QC about their ultra guard line.
if there was a pattern of poor quality, we'd know about it on the oil filter websites since they're like audiophiles for oil filters. Ultra Guard's are good and really shouldn't be considered as being made by the same company that makes the bottom priced fram filters. |

I prefer better filtration and synthetic media in my filter so that's why I choose the Ultra. The PF64 isn't bad either tho, just that the Fram filters finer particles. 99% at 20 micron vs 98% at at 25-30 Microns for the Delco. Fram Ultra is about $9 and the PF64 is $6.18 At the end of the day ensure you are using the proper PSI spec and you will be fine with which ever filter OEM,Fram or Wix. |

Be careful, there was an oil pump failure thread on here recently, where the dealer was denying warranty due to the filter not being OEM. I know its sounds stupid, but there it was.

An afternarket filter will cause more headaches if the dealer starts pointing at it but, that's just blowing smoke. I bet you could never get the dealer to put that in writing. Using the proper bypass spec will reduce some of that headache. https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/article...ne-maintenance |

Fram and WIX both sell the correct filter with the correct bypass spec. If you do not want to worry about it stick with OEM. |
