New bolts

I know GM recommends new bolts when doing rear suspension work saying they are one time use only. Just wondering how many people are actually doing it or not doing and not having issues. And if not are you sticking to oem torque specs?

I'd maybe use them twice, but really should replace them each time. One member on the 1LE facebook group showed a picture of his bolts after use and they were twisted. His were the toe bolts. He has since went with a lockout kit and SPL toe links. I'm in the same process but my local alignment guy just shut his doors :(

I replaced the (4) bolts when i did my bmr rear cradle lockout kit. not expensive to replace them, and i just wanted the assurance given how fast i drive the car.

My friend races a 70 'Cuda in vintage racing. This is the Thursday before the VARA Big Bore Bash. He rents the track for a practice day to get his stuff dialed in. Then fills in with other people. 25-30 people total for the day. A bit more expensive than SV, he's at $275 for the day. But I can get 200+ miles on track in a day with him. Usually in the afternoon everyone is done running and he opens it up. That's how I get my hour long lapping sessions. I come in because I'm tired or need fuel.

I just can't wrap my mind around why you would use one time use bolts for something that is adjusted.

A yielded fastener like this does a much better job at consistently hitting the same clamp force when fastened properly vs. using a straight torque or torque+angle without yield. I'd assume that these joints are pretty sensitive to clamp force, and this way the proper clamp force is more reliably achieved both during production and by technicians.
