I agree microfiber is the fastest way to correct paint on our cars. It is very new technology and its best to use microfiber specific polish.

Even the pros have been slow to move to MF.

There are so many variables: type of machine, RPMs, amount of pressure, pad type, number of passes.

I always say detailing is an art, not a science. I use M205 pretty often in my business and it hasn't failed me with a Makita PO5000C and flat foam.

My Camaro is winter driven. Lots of fine scratches. Everywhere.
I use Meguiars 205 and orange pad. Then BF polish and seal with black pad.
Works everytime.

Using one bucket...and the same Mitt for the whole car

I'm always doing the twins, M105/205 as my go to for years.
Now...……. LOL

I'm loving the Sonax perfect finish Polish.
Use the PF with a MF pad and if you do it right your done.
Let the polish finish out till it turns clear. This stuff cuts like compound and finishes like a polish.

Yes I like Sonax too. This is a perfect example of the new abrasive technology. That Sonax polish actually DOES cut like a compound and finish like as polish. The abrasives change as they heat up.

Meguiars 205 does 90-95% of the scratches...
Still looks fantastic.

Not sure if I want to try something 'stronger' to hit the deeper ones.

Any product a bit stronger and foolproof like M205 I can try.
Maybe a different pad.

Refer to the Autopia Polish Comparison chart to find a more aggressive polish.

Proper procedure is to try in this order, if possible:

More passes with same pad and polish
More pressure or RPMs with same pad and polish
More aggressive machine with same pad and polish
More aggressive pad
More aggressive polish

I will slow down. More passes.
That's good advice.
I do my door , I think I take my time. Is 3-4 minutes sound about right?

My G- machine. Speed 4. Goes up to 6.

I find with the Griots if I'm moving from left to right and it's 2 feet, I count to 7 or 8, as in "1 and 2 and 3 and 4, etc....speed on 3 or 4.......

In that case...I am going way too fast....

It could be I am doing too large an area for the amount of compound.
Smaller area. More compound. More time.

I'll start with that.
