Mystery LS1
I have a 2002 slp 35th aneversery ss t tops 6
Basicaly i bought from a gm dealer here
In winnipeg . It has alunimun harmonic
Balancer and a 6.5 quart oil sump. Head are
241. Basically it the fastest car i ever drivin
It will pull hard past 6000 rpm . I am the
Original owner . I have done no mods to it
Any body had any idea what under the hood?
It not a LS1 as it easy out run a LS1 and it vibrates
Like it had a can in it. Plugs would foul if u let it

Let me dig back to my old ls1 days. Your options in 02 would-be been an ls1 block or an ls6 block. I believe the 241 heads are a solid indication that it is indeed an ls1 block. I recall some getting 243 heads with the ls6 (but that may have just been the z vettes).

6.5 oil pan sounds like what I remember in my ls1. Some people did claim to have factory freaks with good dyno numbers in their ls1s.

You got me on the balancer. If you are the original owner then the dealer may have given you some papers if they did the work to modify the car?

Sounds like it's running rich. Any mods, tune? Last time you cleaned maf?

No mods there is only 10000 km on the car.
I have raced cars that did a solid 6 second
0-60 times and this car is far faster than that
Car. Some one suggested it has the 382 slp
Stroker motor in it. I know it has enough power
To get side ways if at 3000 or higher in low
Gear. I also know it took on a 550 hp BMW and
Beat it. It had only 10 k when i got it.
I ordered from Orion motors who found it
At Edmonton motors Alberta?

Sorry bud, it was 5.5qt in my ta. I miss that car still. It was light, solid axle drove like a beast.

Im not sure honestly how to tell if someone stroked it to 383.

I did clean my mass airflow sensor annually as mine always seemed to funk up over the year as a daily driver. It's right between the air box and tb (piece with wire clip). Disconnect, should loosen two clamps with flat blade screwdriver. pull and clean with maf sensor cleaner only. Reattach.

Sounds like a great car post up a pic. I'm sure someone more intelligent than I will chime in sometime. I believe I remember the block number on rear passenger side

Since photobucket went all greedy I use the attachment tool here on my phone by selecting advanced and then the attachment button. Select pic, upload and then post.

Probably use a 3rd party thing like imgur but I don't mess with that.

Very nice car got to love t tops i miss those and more than lkkely its going be a ls1, very few recieved the ls6 block, but on that note late 2001 and alot of 2002s got ls6 intakes, there are different packages though like the 345 hp slp package ect., plus not all where created equal my old 2002 was a good example at that, at that time no ls1s could touch it in my area, on that note though it does sound like you need a good tune up, very awesome carenjoy it
Looking on the birth certificate your car is the 345 hp edition not to mention ls1s were also known to be under rated from the factory
