Yeah, that's one of the reasons that I chose it. I didn't want black, but I didn't want a light color either. For me, Blue Velvet was the perfect compromise between the two. It looks just beautiful in the sunlight.

Love that interior color with the blue.

Add some smoked tails and marker lights! Would look very stealthy ;-)

Yeah, it reminds me of that Teal they used to sell on the Chevy trucks in the early 90's. It was everywhere. That's way I bought Victory red..

Reminds me a lot of our Navy Blue Metallic WS6.

Nice color...local dealership had a 2016 1SS non NPP VBM when the 6gen first dropped. It reminds me of Navy Blue Metallic found on the 4th gens.

So, I have a 2016 Blue Velvet Metallic and the Blade Spoiler on a 1SS. I think my car may be a 1 of 1 in this configuration. As some may remember, the blade spoiler option was delayed for the SS models because the car came with a wing spoiler and one of the holes from the wing was not covered up by the blade.

So, you could only order a blade spoiler on an SS in the last one or two weeks of the 2016 year, and since the Blue Velvet is a 2016 only color, I am not sure how many folks with Blue Velvet in an SS got the blade spoiler.

I'm sure it won't make the car worth a ton of money at an auction years from now, but it is fun to think about...

The color code has to be used often enough to justify its continued presence on the paint assembly line. Either demand (i.e. orders) is high enough on Camaro alone, or the color is used on other vehicles which share the assembly line. A color needs to be certified every time they start spraying. The economics don't work for switching colors all the time.

I have to admit, this past Sunday when doing laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Chevy Customer Appreciation Day, we had a little over 300 Camaro’s and Corvettes but I’m confident having taken pics of all the participants staged to go on the track, mine was the only Blue Velvet Metallic present. There were a couple of Corvettes close to BVM but not quite.
My Camaro represented well.

My friend had a blue velvet 2SS that sold for $33,000 new because it sat in the lot for months. It's a beautiful car and I don't understand why few buyers wanted it. Yes, it's definitely a rare color.
