Factory Exhaust Replacement

I purchased a 2023 ZL1 1LE that had the axle back section of the exhaust removed. Unfortunately it is even too loud for me. I want to replace it with a factory GM exhaust but my VIN shows two systems. Does anyone know what it means by "Exhaust Muffler Assembly with Aftertreatment". The other system does not have "aftertreatment". My first thought is the aftertreatment is the exhaust valves. Thanks for any help received.

Pretty sure all the ZL1s including the 1LE package have the valves. You may be able to save some money if you can buy a takeoff factory exhaust from a member on this site.

Lots of suitcases are available, I have one but the problem is shipping the thing is cost prohibitive.

Some pics I've seen as advertised "with aftertreatment" are AFM valves. You want it to have NPP valves at the tips, not AFM valves before the suitcase.

And yes, all ZL1 variants have the exact same exhaust: Coupe, vert and 1LE. None have AFM valves.

I wonder why the parts sites list two exhaust systems when I search with my VIN?

Parts sites are inaccurate many times. Just go to a reputable dealer that has a good parts guy.

If you have any good performance shops in your area I'd call em and see if any of the ZL1s they mod would wana sell ya their factory exhaust. Gotta be a ton of these laying around or taken to scrap.

Indeed, and one wonders why, given these are online outlets of actual parts departments at dealerships...

I removed the suitcase from my 2019 ZL1. I sold the NPP valves but the suitcase would still work for you and the NPP valves would be cheaper than the whole kit. If you can drive up to Northern Virginia near Gainesville/Haymarket to pick it up you can have my suitcase for free.
