Question about OE exhaust

I've been looking at aftermarket exhaust. I have the npp exhaust and would like to keep the "quiet" portion of it for my neighbors at 6am when I leave for work (if I ever go back to the office). I know several companies make great axle back stuff....but $2k for an exhaust system with the npp valves is kind of pointless when I already have the valves. That's over $700 right there that's not technically needed. Has anyone ever run a straight pipe for their loud side and kept the muffled factory side for their quiet side? This has probably been asked a billion times already....

The 'loud side' is basically a straight pipe already.

Best way to improve sound without spending a ton is to remove the secondary cats.

^ THIS, slightly louder, slightly deeper tone, retains stealth function, at a reasonable cost. Just make sure the welds don't leak where the replacement pipes go, or you will get a check engine light.
