Has this ever happened to you?

Yesterday when I was leaving work, I was cruising past LA fitness and some asshole pulls right out in front of me he never even stopped or looked my way. This was in a shopping mall parking lot so, I was maybe doing 15 or 20. Needless to say, I slammed on the brakes and the car stalled out. I have heard of this happening, but have never had a car stall because of hard braking??? Car has a GPI SS3 VVt cam.

It should be impossible to stall out an auto to the point it dies. That's the whole point of a tq converter, to allow the engine to turn freely while foot is on brake, slowing down or idling. I can see it happening in a stick car by not hitting the clutch or taking it out of gear, otherwise, shouldn't happen either.

That should never happen in an Auto. Sure you didn't bump the key? Lol.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Good Afternoon frack,

I’m very sorry to hear that your Camaro stalled after applying the brakes, and I recognize how this situation could be frustrating. If you have any questions, or would like this matter to be looked into further, please don’t hesitate to send us a private message. I’d be happy to help.

All the best,

No, I have not found out what happened and I have been checking things out for 3 days. So far everything looks good. I have tried to duplicate with no luck. Still waiting to get car retuned. Going to have local shop put the camaro on their dyno and do some pulls and data log some info to send to Ryan at GPI. Possibly find out more then.

I have done twice in my wife's Tahoe doing the same thing. Both happened similar to your situation but I caught the transmission as it was shifting and SLAMMED the brakes. Which leads me to believe it got confused went into gear and stalled. I have also stalled the Tahoe rolling backward in reverse and shifting to drive and punching the throttle.

Sent from my campfire using smoke signals

Sorry, but I often find that even the Chevy dealer that I bought my Camaro from will not deal with me because I have performance modifications done with the car. They wouldn't even do an oil change last time.
