2.0 - M6 Transmission Fluid Change

Hi,

I was wondering when would be the time to change the Transmission fluid on my 2.0 M6.

Does it need to be changed early for the first time ? - like the differentials

I have 4k miles and my car is 1 year old. Does it need a change?

What are the fluid suggestions and quantity?

Thank you.

You transmission ( same as mine, 2.0 m6) takes 3.65qts of dexron 6 spec fluid. 4K is certainly over kill unless your really running it hard or you've grinded gears enough that you feel it's warranted.

As for good dex 6 fluids there are plenty, I've got a gallon of Redline D6 that's going in before 20,000 miles .

There's a little White Book with a supplemental book located in the small compartment called a Glove Box. Check it out sometime.
