The only one I know of was the one with the Z28 on motor trend head to head. I believe the R beat the regular 350 by 2 seconds or so. Edit it was 3 seconds. I'm sure it was other factor like more aero on the R and such. But the carbon wheels do make a difference.

Carbon vs Aluminum wheel comparison - Pretty serious difference. I can guarantee without the CF wheels the GT350R would not have bested the 5Gen Z/28.

You're missing the side by side at the same track at the same time.

CF wheels eliminate much of the rolling mass of the car, and that has a significant effect on a vehicle's ability to accelerate, brake, and turn at speed.

Interesting concept for camaro. Definitely see the benefits. My concern is the complete incompetence of the dealer to change tires on such a high dollar item. Especially since id guess any tire factory premounted on a cf wheel would have an 8000 mile realistic tread life.

This ^^^^ The dealer has completely butchered the wheels on my 1LE and they are the "experts". They didn't even know the back wheels differed from the front. I had to tell them and they argued with me.

Not sure for that specific size, but the GT350 supossedly saved 14-15 lbs per wheel. I think the total weight savings was 58 lbs.

The carbon brakes on the Z/28 saved about 21 lbs total for comparison.

I would find out who at the dealer would be performing the work. A lot of times, they just have the lube techs or apprentices mount/balance tires. Usually because they don't want to pay enough flat rate time for the experienced techs to make it worth their while. I would bet that any dealer wouldnt let the "kids" touch a set of CF wheels though, due to their high cost if they screw something up.
They should also be using a tire machine like this one. There is one at my shop, works great!
