The only one I know of was the one with the Z28 on motor trend head to head. I believe the R beat the regular 350 by 2 seconds or so. Edit it was 3 seconds. I'm sure it was other factor like more aero on the R and such. But the carbon wheels do make a difference.

I do not believe side by side on the same track at the same time...but look at their
0-60 1/4 60-0 MPG And the other basic #s I think those can sum it up for the most part. Or am I missing something? |

Carbon vs Aluminum wheel comparison - Pretty serious difference. I can guarantee without the CF wheels the GT350R would not have bested the 5Gen Z/28.

CF wheels eliminate much of the rolling mass of the car, and that has a significant effect on a vehicle's ability to accelerate, brake, and turn at speed. See below. Quote:

I sold electronics in the 80's. You could get a single play cd player, that loaded vertically, and skipped like crazy, if you had a wood floor and walked by it. The price $2000.

Further reinforcing the fact that all things eventually become affordable.

What would be the weight difference between, say, a 20x10 forged wheel vs carbon wheel?

Interesting concept for camaro. Definitely see the benefits. My concern is the complete incompetence of the dealer to change tires on such a high dollar item. Especially since id guess any tire factory premounted on a cf wheel would have an 8000 mile realistic tread life.

The carbon brakes on the Z/28 saved about 21 lbs total for comparison.

They should also be using a tire machine like this one. There is one at my shop, works great! https://youtu.be/QTiIjfhpcIE |
