HydroSilex

I know I am most likely going to take a hit from some on this board. That out of the way, I just put my second coat of HydroSilex on my bucket of bolts. It seems to shine a good bit and it also seems to be like some of the Zaino products that I used to use, in that the more coats, the deeper the shine. It went on easy even in the heat and humidity of South Louisiana (I won't have the climate control installed in the garage for another couple / three weeks).

Questions:

Has anyone else used this product?

What were your results?

Any additional input or guidance is gladly accepted.

P.S. This was fairly inexpensive. ~$65 for a 64oz bottle. Enough to do several vehicles and not a lot invested if there is a real downside to the product.

It is a quality SiO2 sealant. It's sold on legitimate detailing warehouse sites. Same as Gyeon WetCoat, Mckee's Hydro Blue and CarPro Hydro2 if it is spray on/spray off. If it is spray on/wipe off it is the same as CarPro Reload, etc..

It is called HydroSilex Reload and it is a spray on, wipe off product. They expressly do not recommend a wet application as that leads to a very spotty result.

Thanks for the information.

I am using it on my Camaro and Grand Cherokee. The Camaro has never been washed but dusted, today i rinsed off the Jeep, dried it and it looks great. The Jeep is a daily driver but very little miles, haven’t washed it since using the stuff and its looks great, the Jeep is black.

I hope to get a third application on this weekend. I'll use this as a boost the Bus and its ceramic coating. It's been 2 years and I can tell it isn't as robust as it once was.
