CORRECT DTC 70 pad to run with ZL1 1LE brakes

I have seen couple of threads about this but I decided to call the HAWK PADS guys to verify the correct information because I was basically using a PAD that will work but was NOT the optimal size.

I have ZL1 1LE brakes on my 2019 SS for TRACK DAYS, I have been using DTC-70 HAWK PADs , part number HB694U.605. I might add that I found these pads to be INCREDIBLE and quite an upgrade from the admittedly VERY GOOD Brembo stock Pads.

My rotor size is 15.35 inches which is important to remember because not all BREMBO setups run this size rotor. SS rotor is smaller for example.

Anyhow, the HAWK tech guy recommended that I run HB631U.622 because that PAD will cover almost the entire rotor. It comes CLOSER to the center hub and also goes out further to the outside edge of the rotor.

I will take PICS of BOTH pads and post back up HERE, once the 631 pads come in so you can observe the pad size difference.

I watched a couple videos that reviewed these and the gyrodiscs and saw that exact difference of the actual area coverage difference. Pretty significant. Not many of the aftermarket pads have as large of a surface area.

Yeah these pads really bite, a semi professional racecar driver took my car around the track and exclaimed that the car has demon brakes like a racecar

Well I guess we all get a case of the dumbass now and then. It appears by looking at the NEW HB631U.622 psds I just got in that apparently I was running those all along and NOT the HB694U.605 pads like I had thought (LOL). I guess I should have known better because AMP were the ones that ordered the PRIOR set for me.

I might add these DTC70 pads held up REALLY well. EVERY time I went to the track I changed from the stock BREMBO pads over to the DTC70 front and DTC 60 rear pads and then BACK to the stock pads after track day was done.

I marked ALL the pads so that I put them back on EXACTLY the same position each time I switched over. I DID NOT prepare the rotor in between the pad switchovers either. The DTC 60's are still good after roughly 12 full track days but the DTC70's were done.

I had Adam Poland at DOGHOUSE performance run my car with the DTC70 setup and he felt the brakes were unbelievebly good especially for a 3700 pound car. Adam is a national championship winning driver a couple of times over so thats a pretty strong endorsement.

OK I dont run DTC60's on the front but the part number is the same BUT you need to specify that you want the DTC60 compound and NOT the DTC70 compound.

HB631U.622 DTC 60

The pad is 7.47 inches LONG and 3.74 inches WIDE with .622 thickness

The DTC 70's have MORE initial BITE than the DTC 60's and thats why I run them. I DO RUN DTC 60's as I mentioned on the REAR

YES we upgraded to ZL1 1LE brakes FRONT and REAR which means of course I have 15.35 inch front rotors. With the DTC pads and slicks, the brakes will absolutely stand you on your head. Also upgraded to stainless steel brake lines. I was told by a professional race car driver that drove my car that the brakes were as good as he had on his race cars so that's a good enough endorsement for me LOL.

Been running HB631U.622 for years and I consistently get 2-3 track days... (Just looked up my Amazon history and I've been through 6 sets of fronts and 4 rears) by far the best track pad for these cars but no idea how you would be getting 12 days out of them...
