Are my tires incorrectly installed?

This doesn't look right to me. The tires should have a lip that protrudes slightly past the rim. What do you think?

Correct install or no?

Did you mean to attach a pic? I see nothing.

Also, it should have nothing to do with the installation. The bigger questions are size of rim? Size of tire?

Lastly, keep in mind some tire manufacturers have square and some have more rounded shoulders.

Tires will either have direction of rotation labeled somewhere, or have inside and outside labeled. Not all tires will have the rim protector, which is the bulge you are describing.
Post the exact model of tire you installed.
from what I see about Pirelli p-zero, it will depend on the year and model of tire if it has a rim guard.

my brother had a set of the exact same tires on his mustang, obviously different rims, but the rim protector stuck out more. Couple years ago and different rims are enough for the variance I suppose. Thanks for the advice!

Too little info to say anything...wheel size, tire size, etc etc solely by the picture I'd look in to it further. Tech's do mismount tires, inside/outside, left/right, backwards from the rotation indicator, and so forth. I always stop and look at mine when I change out to ensure these things.

Not a tire expert, but I will say it looks like the bead did not mount flush to the edge of the wheel. I can not ever remember seeing a tire have such a gap between the edge of the rim and the tire bead. Just curious: is the tire made to fit on the wheel size you have? From the angle of the picture, it looks like you already have the walls of the tire flexing out.

Actually looks like the tire is stretched or undersized to the rim, too.

I see the same as Aquarius, the bead looks only half seated, look at my Michelins for comparison.

Then again, you run Pirellis that might have a very different bead profile, plus we don't know the tire size and which wheel your picture shows, front or rear; please post all this info.

Tire is narrow for the wheel is all. Some brands of tires will run narrow for their size rating. Nitto use to be notorious for that.

That doesn't look right. I'd take it to another tire shop and ask someone with experience.

What size tires and wheels, including the width?
