Standard ZL1 With ZL1 1LE Wheels & Tires
I have a standard 18 ZL1 and recently picked up a set of ZLE wheels and tires.
I performed the mag ride strut modification to allow for front wheel clearance. I also performed the harness relocate on the left rear, which was simple. I did not modify the top camber adjustment slot on the mag ride struts. I did max out the front negative camber adjustment when I did the modification for wheel clearance. I need to get it aligned to see where I’m at. How much negative camber can be achieved on the standard ZL1? I do have Vorshlag camber plates on order (back order actually), but I’m not sure that I need them. |

I did the strut mod on my SLE to help clear my race wheels. I have 19x10.75 wheels with 12 offset. So mathematically like your 19x11s with a 9 offset. A bit more clearance. I keep camber at -2.5 or 2.6 and have maybe 4mm clearance to the strut. My alignment got sacked when I hit a dip and one side went to -2.9. At that I had rubbing at the top of the strut flange where you can’t mod and lower where I stopped grinding, looks like a ledge in shape but 19” wheel clears by enough , but still rubs. I autocross so the car is cornering more then on the street.

Checked my camber today with my new Smart Camber gauge. I’m sitting at -2.7 degrees on both sides. I think that’s perfect. I have what appears to be adequate wheel clearance. I don’t think I’ll need to back ordered camber plates. Probably will cancel that order.
