12 - 16 week wait for ZL1?

Looking to order a 2022 ZL1. Dealer saying 12 to 16 weeks. Sound like truth or BS? Thanks in advance

This is the first time I am hearing of that long of a wait, but the ZL1 is one of the trims that has a constraint on it currently, with a TBD as an end date.

12-16 weeks may be the build time but could be much longer if the dealer doesn't have an allocation for a ZL1 available. I was quoted a 6-9 months because there were 3 folks ahead of me waiting for an allocation. Dealers may only get one per month if lucky.

I was impatient so I found a 2021 ZL1 close to my spec in inventory. They only seem to last a few days in my area if they are not pre-sold.

Ordered a 2SS 1LE in 2/2021. Arrived August 31st. 12-14 weeks is a gift.

My dealer told me 5 months for a 1ss. Anything on constraint they said was TBD.

Almost the same...

Sounds reasonable. My ZL1 took 3 months from order to delivery in Idaho (and my dealer already had an allocation ready). But this was earlier this year in the winter before everything went completely bonkers.

Im closing in on 3 months without a dealer allocation and I really have no expectation that I'll see it before late Feb or in to Mar which was when I wanted to take delivery any way.

in normal times 12-16 weeks is the normal timeframe when ordering a vehicle from GM.

Mine took about 25 weeks order to delivery. So between chip delays and constraints.. yeah 12-16 is totally reasonable.

This is tough to say as so many of us that were waiting on cars (or that still are) put in orders before production for 22s was even started so you almost have to reduce that time when it wasn't even possible for a car to get built. Once it actually started mine took about 9-10 weeks (that included two weeks of additional plant downtime after they started production). No constraints impacting getting an allocation so that helped as well. Given there are some constraints on ZL1s now that timeframe sounds fair, especially with the holidays coming up.

I will be waiting for 4 months this weekend based on when i placed my order. Still waiting for allocation. Hopefully it gets accepted soon. So far no constraints on it. I would lose my mind if I had other trims right now because allocations and constraints during these times don’t mix well.

I am going on 3 months and still no allocation. Mine is a ZL1 which are now and have been on constraint with TBD for resolve. It took me a while to decide on the car, color, options, etc. and I accepted the fact there would be a wait but this is going on ridiculous including GM's allocation system.
It will be worth the wait, just ranting, my family is tired of hearing about it.

I keep telling my self that too. "It will be worth the wait" speech. My wife tired of me ranting, at this point she like idc what you get, as long as you happy...I'm like don't say that because I'll get a ZLE but she not going to like that car payment when it starts rolling in hahaha... Good thing about being in Michigan though is I couldn't drive the car anyways so its keeping me sane right now.

12-16 weeks seems pretty reasonable at present, particularly given current constraints.
