So, to say this in another way: right now, the only Camaros being built are the 1SS, the LT1, 1LS, and any 1LT or 2LT with a 4cyl turbo.

Those are the only vehicles getting allocated (order formally accepted) right now. Constraints do not effect vehicles at 2000 status or higher as the required parts/assemblies are already in progress or at least scheduled throughout GM's just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing processes.

I am curious to know how long this will affect ZL1 production for. It is tough times out there for the auto industry.

Yep - that makes sense. I wonder if any people waiting on the V6, if that constraint stays longer, will switch to a T4 and change their order?

Its brutal. Seems worse for some companies though than others. Of course, it sucks for us that the Camaro is one of the hardest hit models.

Ya I'm well aware and so are they that I know they are not being honest with me. I ordered it at the largest dealer west of the Mississippi hoping it would help but I think they gave allocations to others as I am not local to them. I'm currently looking for another dealer who could get an allocation once the constraints are lifted.

Itd be nice to get details on the cause of the various constraints, wouldn’t it? That would give people a better idea or at least some indication of possible timeframes on this stuff. Like for the V6 engine that some of us were hoping to order: is it just a part or two? Is it the shipping or dock holdups? Is it a chip? Is it the boogeyman? The uncertainty and "TBD" status is so unsatisfying.

The constraints change every Thursday. Last Thursday was the same except 20 ZL1 Coupes were able to be ordered across the country.

So to be clear: This Thursday, the 4th there will be a "Constraint" update?

I wonder if the constraint on the V6 is because they're all being used in the more profitable trucks and SUV's.

Dying to know. That information would mean a lot to those that attempted to order a V6 powered car. If that’s the case then Guess what? You can forget the V6 in a Camaro for the foreseeable future. What engines they do have are going into the pickemup trucks and soccer mom mobiles. .

My gut tells me this is true though. So, you either order a turbo 4 or save up more cash for a V8…. If you even want A V8.
