does the LGR plant normally produce cars through the winter, or does it take a seasonal break?

They work through the winter. A few days off for Christmas and New year. The shutdown is usually in the summer, but microchip shortages have really made that irrelevant.

That sounds more like a dealership allocation issue if you're still sitting at 1100 since the 2nd week of August. I placed my order on 9/1 and it's been accepted for production this week.

Great, . I might have to try a few other dealers then to see what the "deal" is. I saw that 1100 means "ordered at dealer" on the status codes page. Congrats on your car moving to the production step! NICE!

Is is worth calling/asking places if they have any allocations? Or will they not provide that info? I dont mind changing dealers but only want to do it if theres a much better chance of things at least moving forward versus just trading one dealer that has no allocations for another that also has no allocations. Of course, I want the car for spring 2022 so maybe I dont want it too fast! Ugh, this is so much harder than it should be.

Another question: When looking for cars available using the GM Camaro locator, what does "In-Transit" actually mean? Is that car already sold or is it just coming in and might be available? Or is that Camaro locator out of date and unreliable?

The cars getting built and moving through the system right now are V8s. Your delay is because of the V6 constraint - GM won't accept the order until the constraint is lifted, so a dealer can't use one of their allocations on a V6 build. The best you can at this point is try to find out if the dealer will prioritize your order as soon as the constraint is lifted.

The problem for us buyers is there's no way to look up what constraints are active. The system tells the dealer putting your order in about active constraints at that time, but your order went in before the constraint was created in September.

"In transit" cars mean the car is going to that dealership, but isn't guaranteed to be available. I called on a few I've seen and the first question I asked was if it was available - most were already spoken for. It was explained in another recent thread that dealers use third party companies to maintain their website inventory from a list of cars shipped, and they don't usually separate out the sold cars.

What about LT1 engine with six-speed manual transmission (MN6) but without dual model exhaust (NPP)?

I know that was a constraint at some point in the last couple of months but don't recall the details or which thread I read it in. I've been spending too much time reading the forums while I wait for the car, and it all kind of runs together....

If you want it sooner rather than later your best bet might be to find a 21 at a dealer. I have seen inventory increase on a few sites with 2021 V6 Camaros, especially during the last few weeks. I'm assuming many of the 21s that were waiting on chips were still moving the past few weeks while the plant was down. The dealer I ordered my '22 from had 1 Camaro a few weeks back and then last week there were 8 2021 1LT V6s that popped up on the site (and still are on there). A couple have actual pics so I assume some are on the lot. No red hot though ... seems to be a few Wild Cherry, Black and Shadow Gray.

I was hoping someone here might have insider knowledge. Chevy contacted me in early august with a 8/16 tpw and nothing since. I’m hoping in the last 2 weeks they found the parts.

I’m one of those people that probably should have gotten and LT1 with options instead of an SS. I’d have my car by now.

Got it - thank you for the detailed replies! I do remember the V6 constraint thing from a few weeks ago. Probably hasnt been lifted yet. I wont panic. I have time here.

Thats the weird thing - I dont want it "sooner" due to being in upstate, NY. Winter is looming and the car will be parked all winter! So, getting it in December is actually bad. However, I do want it for early Spring 2022 which is March if possible. My dealer said to order right away for that spring time frame so hopefully they are right. The nice thing is that he said he'd store it for me until spring if it came in early so that does help. So, I dont want it too soon but dont want it late summer next year either!

I think the key here is to at least hear Im "in the system" so to speak. get my order accepted, feel like there is progress being made. That will give me confidence!

I'm with you on that. Part of me wants it ASAP with this great weather but at a certain point it makes more sense to get it in Spring given the salt/snow will hit the streets in a month or so and it'll be stored. That being said, I don't want the car on a hauler driving through salt/snow on the way here in Jan either lol. Can't be too picky during these crazy times I guess. Lucky to even get one at this point. Good luck!
