PICS! Custom Forgestar CF5V in 19x11 and 19x12 - First 11s on an SS/SS-1LE up front?

Hey all - Strap in because this is a long one... If you want the TL;DR - skip to the bottom and look at the pics

After a long bunch of measuring and debating and researching, I decided I was going to do a 19x11 and 19x12 setup on my SS 1LE. I've run a 19x10.5 APEX PS7 +22 before with a spacer and wanted a little sharper turn-in with the 305s, and wanted to have wider wheels in the rear as the 325s I had were a little big for an 11in wide wheel. I decided a 12 would be idea.

Unhappy that the only option for a 19x11 front wheels was to buy OEM ZL1-1LE wheels (at the time of my Forgestar order, the only set for sale was over $3500, they have since dropped to about $2750), I decided on ZL1-1LE offsets and sizes in an aftermarket wheel was a better deal. Forgestar pricing is very reasonable, even in caparison to recent pricing of the OEM ZL1-1LE wheels. Tire sizing is 305/30-19 Front and 325/30-19 Rear (Nitto NT01)

Additionally because of the low front offset, I was able to get the "Super Deep Concave" style in front (and rear), which just looks undeniably cool.

So I ordered thru Baca's Motorsports (Dan Baca), after I was referred to him by a friend (who is also on this forum - ShizzySupra). I'd like to say Dan was wonderful and I'd recommend him to anyone. I received them a little while ago, test fitted wheel-only and it was ok, then had the tires mounted. I initially was unable to get the car off the jackstands once the tires went on with the -3.0* camber I had from some previous strut mods. I was planning on ordering Moreno Motorsports/Gen5DIY Camber plates in the future but this sped up the process. I ordered them and put a 10mm spacer on the front wheels to get the car to Chase Race out in Duvall, WA and have them install the plates, remove the spacers, and re-align the car to -3.0* - Which all went well.

Overall, I love the look and the stance of the car - Looks mean but not unreal or comical - the Z06 flares support the look so that it looks "OEM Plus" enough for me. I also like that I can run a 345 now (on the street only) out back if I want (which I might do since the car is about to get about 200+ hp added to it starting in a week or so) - My buddy took some glamour shots yesterday and I put them below...

If I had to do it again...
Personally, I might do a +6 offset as I could poke a bit with the Z06 flare and potentially shove a wider tires like a 315, but it's really give that a ton of thought - 305 is huge

I like the

Current suspension mods to my car listed below
NOTE:
Items in *bold* would be required to run this setup with stock alignment. Items in *bold and italic* needed to run with aggressive alignments (I run -3.0* but this might apply to smaller increments too)
  • C7Z06 front fender flares
  • Ground down strut tabs
  • Moreno Motorsports / Gen5DIY camber plates

I also have longer wheels studs but these aren't needed (I had them for the PS7 wheel setup and didn't remove them, because it's just extra work and doesn't harm anything to keep them)\

You don't necessarily need the Z06 flares, but the tires will poke a bit without them (see pics below)

You could also use a 3-5mm spacer up front instead of the strut stab grinding (but then you'd poke out even more, and I'd recommend the flares at that point)

TL;DR

Forgestar CF5V in Super Deep Concave in OEM ZL1-1LE offset and size
(19x11 +11 front / 19x12 +41)
Nitto NT01 in 305/30-19 front and 325/30-19 rear
No spacers, only minor strut grinding needed to fit if using a stock-ish alignment

WOW. FANTASTIC SET UP.

Hands down, you have the best looking 6th gen ive ever seen. Love the Zo6 flares. I may have to do that when I pick up my OEM 1le Wheels.

How long did it take you to get your Forgestar’s? I’m currently at week 13 on my lead time, no word yet when my set are coming back from the powder coaters.

I LOVE this setup. That concave look just does it for me. Only thing I would change for myself would be the tires due to my car being a daily.
