Daytime Running lights while parked

I know that in auto mode the DRLs only are on while the car is not in park, according to the manual. For taking pictures and such I would like to have a way to turn them on manually. In the manual it says something about moving the knob/dial to the power symbol and back again to turn them on but I have had no such luck.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just not possible?

Move the dial to the park position. The lights are going to be not as bright but they will be on.

I know this reply is late. But you can put the car in drive and then put the Ebrake on. That will allow you to have to brighter daytime lights. Now don't take my word idk if that's harmful to the car. But quick photo I don't think would of been an issue.
