I ordered a 30 gallon drum of E85 today because my area does not have any E85 close by. The nearest Speedway Gas Station is 2 hours 11 mins away.

So other then filling up my 5 gallon jugs for track runs has anyone thought or maybe has already looked into making their own E85. I have started to explore this but would like some input on this topic.
More money and time than it's worth to distill your own.

Plus, if you start making a lot, the BATFE will probably visit you. Especially if you sell it.

I've tried running E65 thru E85 and found no performance gains on the dyno or at the track above the E65 level. My VP dealer who also has a VP station has his own blend of what I would call true E85 with a blend of X98 and 93 octane. I do buy that for racing only and its not much more expensive then what I buy at my local flex fuel station which is usually only between E65 and E70.

Yeah I was surprised as well. I've tried it with the stock tune and my own timing maps and LS3 maps and everything else. I haven't really experimented that much with just straight 93 but I know it knocks just as bad even with 89. I can also hear the knock everytime I see it on the scanner, and I can also hear it and for some reason it won't show up on the scanner. Both sensors are new also, and knock count between cylinders looks consistent and relatively even also.

But once I hit about 50% it 100% vanishes.

I haven't done that much experimenting with blends on my LT1 but so far it seems the same way, it takes about 50% before much effect on knock resistance (or at least knock sensor triggering).

Well I cracked open the barrel and put 5 gallons of E85 in the tank, might have been 1/8 of a tank left of 93 pump in it. I had just finished installing the E85 gauge and ran the car, it was at 55%. The car seemed to love it, it was either the colder temps, E85, or the ECU finally fixed my idle drop/surge when I would come to a stop. It ran like a champ on E85. Now just need to upgrade the injectors and high side pump over the winter months, then in the spring slap on the Procharger with axle/driveshaft. So looking forward to this spring.
