2022 Camaro LT1/A10

New member here,
Introducing my new Satin Steel Metallic 2022 LT1. Been looking at one for a while and finally was able to pull the trigger on one here in northern Indiana.

Few previous builds include a '08 G8 and a '98 Ws6.
Fist thing I had to do to it was take it to the track to get some baseline data.
DA was around +800ft, and the only thing done to it was a set of radials. I wanted traction to be absolutely out of the equation. Managed a best ET of 12.03 and best trap speed of 117. Pretty good for baseline!

Next modification was a LT2 manifold modified by myself and a rotofab. Havent tuned it yet.
Unfortunately the season is ending here in Indiana and best i could do was a dragy run.
Next thing will be a tune and e85!

Oh hey! I booked it out if there after the second run. I wasn't gonna wait another 2 hrs for another run. I was really gunning for 11s tho.
As far as tuning, I'm going to try to dabble in it. Right now I have the flex fuel sensor installed and flex fuel enabled. Doing some driving around here before it gets too bad out to make sure everything works, and so far so good. Had some throttle body closing at higher rpm, but I have seemed to get that fixed. Always learning g something new.
I'll definitely be back in muncie around the beginning of the season.

right on, you have way more patience than i do. i took one look at all those drop downs and increased cells and said NOPE.

i'm hoping to hit some road courses next year. bought a 1LE to branch out from drag racing, let's see if i actually do it.

Yea these LT1s are easy 11 second Camaros.

My M6 LT1 ran a best of 11.10 @ 116 with only tires and a Rotofab. At Atco I saw a stock LT1 A10 run a couple of 11.9s in only okay air on the stock runflats!

I tried to run my LT1 stock on the runflats and could only go sideways on no nanny 1-2 shifts.

Your A10 LT1 with tires in good air is a solid 11.8 Camaro.

What is your rear tire/wheel combination and how did you launch it? foot brake it? stab it from a dead idle? let it shift by itself in drive ?

They're jegs wheels. 17x10 with 305 mickeys on them. Honestly I would not recommend these wheels. I will be looking for another setup before spring.
Both track times were launching at a touch above idle and let the trans do its thing. Seems to be what the car likes for now.

Are those 305 Mickeys the 305/45-17 ET Street S/S? If so, they are quite heavy at 36 pounds. For comparison, Mickey ET Street R 305/45-17 is 31 lbs, ET Street S/S 275/40-17 is 31 lbs, and ET Street R 275/40-17 is 27 lbs.

So the ET street R 305s would save 10 lbs, good to know...thank you. Also, doesnt the ET street R grip better from a dig on the street and track than the SS? or is it the other way around.

Street R MIGHT grip better on dry track. Rubber compound is the same according to M/T. Sidewall might be softer in the R because it's construction is likely not as substantial as the S/S.

Thing with the R though, as far as driving on the street, is that it's FRICKIN HORRIBLE if you get caught in an actual rainstorm. Seriously, absolute shit in that scenario, that's from real-world experience.

That is good to know also regarding getting caught in the rain. Wonder if the actual 5 lbs heavier weight on each rear wheel would actually equate to a better hook and better 60 ft times versus a loss due to 10 more lbs of rotating mass on the big end.
