I have not read all 11 pages of this thread. To those who have/had the shudder, what did it feel like when it first started? On average, how often does it happen and how long does each incidence of the shudder last? Somewhat recently but very infrequently (2-3x/week, if that), I experience a very slight vibration that lasts no more than 2-3 seconds. It feels nothing like driving over rumble strips. This is my daily driver and my work commute is 30+ miles round trip. Is this the start of the shudder?

Like I said, bought my car new in 2016 and did the prescribed break-in. It wasn’t until this year, around 3K plus miles I felt it and thought it was the road pavement. Maybe on a weekend, once or twice and just a few seconds and that was it. As things progress it just seemed like a running over a light or mild rumble strip. I never felt it every time I drove but sometimes it occur soon after taking off cold and sometimes after I’ve been driving a while. There was no rhyme or reckoning when it would or would not.

I first started experiencing TC shudder at around 20K miles, I had the flush done and the issue returned about 2K miles later.

Here are some of my observations on this issue. The shudder seems to only happen after the car has warmed up (10-15 miles) and mostly in 8th gear around 1100-2000 rpm. One thing I have started doing is driving the car in manual mode to keep the trans in 7th gear unless I'm travelling fast enough for the engine to hold 2000 rpm in 8th gear. Doing this I never experience shudder anymore. It appears at low rpm in 8th gear the TC doesn't completely lock and starts slipping under light load.

It would be nice for GM to release a new trans calibration (similar to my notes above) and not force us to retune the TCM ourselves to resolve this issue and in the process void our warranties.

Also tends to happen when in V4, hence why mine is much better using a Range device to always be in V8 mode.

I do this also. Again, another bandaid. I know GM knows what the ultimate fix is,ain't gonna do shit in hopes that those of us that have lost patience will go the aftermarket TCM/converter route so they can screw us out of the warranty.

yep, because it's programmed to allow more slip in v4 mode just to keep the pulsing at bay.

I've been using the diablosport module since the tc change some miles ago.

so far so good.

I am experiencing the same as Mannaxman and Chozn4service in my 2016 I-4 with 3500 on the clock. Same question, is this the beginning of the shudder issue.

Getting tired of saying this, but welcome to the club that has a lot of members and no one wants to be one.

Its also amazing how many are affected just on the forums alone. Can you imagine how many others out there not on forums have the same shit going on and have no clue whats causing it ect. Just a pitty! The club continues to be one of the biggest ones around lol, Welcome aboard....

The thing is, the club doesn't include just Camaros. Any platform with an A8 is affected- Camaros,Vettes,Colorado,Canyon,Silverado,Sierra,Ta hoe,Yukon,Ecsalade, all of it. Having to provide a REAL fix to those MILLIONS of vehicles gives GM much incentive to do not jack shit or as little as they can get away with until a judge somewhere tells them otherwise. Sonsabitches.

Just got off the phone with my local dealership as I had an appointment to get the flush again for the second time. When the service guy called me and said they are literally doing nothing, not even another fluid flush until the new fluid comes in. However, he said the new fluid will be in next week to them as they are a high volume dealership. I also asked about the "tool kit" and he said it is a new attachment to their flushing machine, there is no transmission tune.

Yeah same here, I can still feel some crappy shifts, but much better with the Range in.

Its sad but I am just hoping to try and enjoy my car for a couple more years if I am able to, I was planning on looking at the C8 ME or if there will be a 7th Gen Camaro...and I love this car too, but I have an extra bit of caution every time I drive it since all this transmission crap started happening 2 years ago for me.

Can someone explain to me that if you've had your car in for service 3 or more times for the same issue ,why haven't you used the Lemon Law in your state? Baffles me!
