Buying my first 2018 Camaro.

Hello Thank you for reading, I'm going to buy a 2018 Camaro V6, and I have a couple of questions and of course, I will accept advice.
Mainly I would like about the transmission, I do not have issues driving manual or automatic, but I would like to hear whats better. Since the one, I'm looking at is manual.

Get the manual. The A8 has potential shudder issues that I doubt you'll want to deal with.

Manual! We gotta keep the manual alive.

1LE package is worth considering too... the orange RS 1LE looks really nice.

Manual. Anyone I can steer away from that horrible A8, I will. Read the posts in the transmission section about the shudder issues. It's in all the GM A8's- Camaros, Corvettes and trucks. I had the shudder issue and ultimately got sick of it and got rid of the car.

Go manual shift. A8 shudder sounds like a pain in the a$$.
if you want an Auto consider the A10 in the 19's.

You are very lucky. Mine started slipping almost from brand new. The tach needle would go up and down in 7th or 8th gear while going a steady speed. I posted on the forum and no one else seemed to have the same problem. Then the shudder came and never went away.

I so wonder what made mine and so many others defective and others like yours so good. Perhaps tolerances in manufacturing in the orifices that control the fluid........

I would have to agree with most to go with a manual. I am picking mine up tomorrow with a M6 in it. I owned both an auto and manual back in college when I had a 95 z28 manual and 2000 z28 automatic. I had so much more fun in the manual. Downshifting coming up to lights, etc.. So much more fun and so much more control. Seems like you can do a lot of this with automatics now and paddle shifters though.

I would go manual also, plus I guarantee they will have much better resale later on. Plus the auto has issues, but it will be faster in the quarter mile. I just came from a Lexus rcf it had an amazing quick shifting 8speed. And I loved it, but I still missed driving a stick, even if its slower its so much more fun. Nothing like banging second gear and feeling the bang end wiggle lol

The auto's shifts are lightning quick once you get going, but I don't think it's very responsive to sudden decisions to accelerate. I found it reluctant to downshift, so you give it more throttle, then drops a bunch of gears and lights up the tires. I believe I read the sale ratio is 80% auto / 20% manual and I have no idea why. I'm a manual die hard to begin with.
