hurst shifter/ dust cover boot

anybody else having a problem keeping the dust boot on the shifter after installing the hurst shifter.
the rubber on my drive shaft has popped it off twice, and now has ripped it off yesterday.

i believe it is pretty tricky to keep it secure, but yes maybe it didn't get completely installed correct?

The installation of the boot can be a bit tricky. Keep in mind the parts in question are factory parts and are not unique to the Hurst shifter. The pivot point of the Hurst and the factory shifter pick up the linkage arm in the same location, so I don't believe the Hurst shifter is the culprit. It is a tight squeeze in there, and the driveshaft and tight tunnel make it even more difficult to work in. This is one instance where having a small set of hands to help would be beneficial. Also, how is the vehicle being lifted? Is it on a drive on lift or set of ramps? Are you just jacking up the front or side of the car. The reason I ask is because if you put the car up on 4 jackstands and allow the rear suspension to get full droop, it should increase the driveshaft angle and give you more room to work with.
