I can't believe I'm excited that I got M1 0w-40 ESP for $7.75 a quart from the dealer where my son works. That's still nuts when you can get 5w-30 Dexos 1 for $18 for 6 quarts!!!! If I weren't headed to the track next month, I would have used my leftover 5w-30 Valvoline MST Dexos otherwise.

I got some quotes on the prices of the Motel 8100 X-Clean 5W-40 today. Not bad at all. I can get a 5L jug for CAN$43 which is like US$33. For a Dexos 2 oil that's actually a very very good price. I will see how much the ESP 0W-40 costs. Will see if I can get a hold of the distributor. For people saying that 0W is better for cold starts, I agree, but then 5W-30 is deemed acceptable for street use, so I don't see how 5W-40 is not okay to use for both street and track use. Both are of similar viscosity at cold, hence 5W. Sent from toaster or something

I know there are some good sources in the US that sell them for a good price.
Canada is a different story, however.

Rockauto has Mobil 1 0w40 ESP for $6.72/qt. I priced 12 qts and they charge $10 shipping. So $90 for 12qts delivered. Plus they seem to have the cheapest prices on filters by far, like the Wix PF63 equivalent (the XP version, too) for ~$6.50.

Do you think Jerry Haas could make a Gen 6 get down the track better?

I went to order the 5w-40 Motul 8100 X-Clean Dexos2 but discovered their are 2 versions of this oil. They sell the X-Clean Gen2 and the X-Clean C3 and both are Dexos2. The Gen2 is more expensive than the other and it was mentioned being developed for a BMW oil requiredment and turbocharged engines. Does anyone have some insight on this matter?

Both meet Dexos 2 so you are fine with either. Sent from toaster or something
