I think car rental places usually have 1SS not 2SS. 2SS is worth the extra money. If this is your first camaro, do your homework and get which ever car you decide on inspected by a professional.

HELL NO, NEVER, EVER... I'm not even going to the dealer for my first oil change (even if it is free), doing it all myself with quality products that I know EXACTLY what is going in my car... AND who is doing the work...

I would be vary wary of buying one from a rental company. You never know what people do to the cars there. I always think the worst of what could have been done to those cars and sway away myself.

Agree with the others just one thing to add. The car is marked as a rental so most of the money you save on the price over one that’s not a rental will just be lost when you trade or sell the car. Is it really worth the possible hassle for a discount that’s temporary because it will always trade for less than a car with a normal history.

And if/when they do it's never timely.

I'm not sure about prices in your area for new Camaros, but last year I bought a brand new 2019 SS 1LE, with PDR and 4 miles on the odo for less than 40K out the door. Not sure I'd feel comfortable paying 32K+ for a used rental car, no matter how well they are maintained. Factor in as previously mentioned it is a sports car and renters don't typically go easy on them.

On top of what others have mentioned, I would be worried about them having been driven hard with 87 octane gas when premium is recommended and likely many more interior/exterior cosmetic issues than normal. And any body repairs or paint touch ups probably were not done to last. If they don't retain the 5 year 60k mile Chevy powertrain warranty then definitely not worth it.

I rented a 2SS vert from Hertz. So, yes they have them. Ended up putting about 1k on the car.

And, allegedly, the car cruises great at 100+ mph and still had power to pull higher if there were a need to pass. It also (theoretically) takes the curves like a slot car, and, figuratively, while cruising the main drag on a Friday night, could eat a couple of the local hot rods where I was visiting...

So, if that all actually happened, I could easily say I got my money's worth.

Being a car guy, I used premium fuel the whole trip and always warmed the car up before driving the speed limit like I would if it was my own car.

Chances are the average renter would just abuse it though. That would make me think twice about buying a rental car.

I'd say they are a LOT closer to the clown convention than the Girl Scout meeting... I'd let a Girl Scout work on my 2SS LONG before I'd ever let one of the "Poop Boyz" touch it...
