19 SS owners who do DIY ceramic coat

So, I'm doing some paint correction and ceramic coating on my SS. I'm finding that our front cover is made of several materials or at least appear to be. My question is, which ceramic coating do I use on the center black painted part of the bumper? (the part they painted body color for 2020...) I dont think that that part is piano black but it doesnt feel like the same material of the bumper cover either. I know there are ceramic coatings for plastic but I dont think they are for painted plastic, just matte. So I assume that I would use the ceramic coating for painted parts for that part of the bumper cover but I'm just not sure exactly what the finish is on that part.

I feel I made that as confusing as possible but hopefully you can snag the gist.

What kit are you using?

I used Adams. On plastic (car and truck) I have used the paint coating and also the trim coating. Both seem to work fine.

I have black fire pro on the paint. I have Adam's plastic trim coating for the plastic trim. I'm 99% sure that I use the paint coating on this piece on the bumper cover but I just want to make sure.

This is the area I'm talking about. It feels like a different material than the bumper cover itself but maybe it is not. It just kinda reminds me more if the piano black trim pieces you see on door pillar garnishes and such.

If it’s gloss, coat it, wax it, seal it, makes no difference

Are you set on ceramic? Just curious as to your decision on ceramic, like to ask people. I try to steer people away from ceramic coatings, the Silica sealants like Reload, the one from Blackfire, etc. are what recommend to people, much easier and less headaches.

Yah, I am pretty set on it. I've used it before on my 5.0. Because my time is so limited and because I had some pretty aggressive scratches that I ended up having to wet sand on the SS, I'm basically doing this a panel at a time. Not the preferred method but I have to work with the time I have.

So, out of curiousity, what kind of headaches are you referring to? What kind of lifespan are you getting out of Reload?

Might want to try something like Gtechniq EXO on the black bits where you will have less risk of issues with water spotting. It lasts ~2 years, which is pretty much as long as many low/mid-tier ceramics. It's also perfect for making grillework and wheel cleaning a breeze!

Or maybe Adams Ceramic Spray or similar (see link below where I compare it to Reload).

I got ~12 weeks months this past summer on my DD. After 8 months, the Adams now looks like what the Reload did after 3 months. Thread is here:

Thank you for the suggestion regarding water spots! Really enjoyed your thread, very informative. I have Adams ceramic trim coat and was going to use it on the grill but they sent me a FREE bottle of the Ceramic spray so I may just use that instead.

As an aside, I did(am doing) a long term test on my DD 2006 civic with DPC shield ceramic coating, Polish Angel sealant and Jescar sealant. Same prep for all 3. Clay, alcohol wipe. I was surprised to see how quickly the Polish Angel checked out. The Jescar is holding up much better but obviously not as good as the DPC shield.

Also, I meant to clear this up earlier...so your saying a coating like EXO is better at resisting water spots? Does it not have the same "oxides" as the other ceramics or is there something different about its composition? Sorry, failed chemistry.
