Front Plates

I was told not having a front license plate was only a 25.00 fine. How many times can you accept this fine before it gets really Nasty with CA?

Get the Sto N Sho... mount the bracket, attach plate to holder, keep it in the trunk. If you get pulled over, just tell them you just came from a meet n greet, forgot to put it back on.

I second that. Got pulled over a few times and got away each time with this method.

zl1 addons tow hook plate mount is the best option or the sto n sho but in cali if you have illegal mods and tint and no front plate you will get pulled over

Hey guys got my front plate bracket today. Its a very nice bracket however, I see the instrctions state the front looses 1/2 in clearence after its installed. Is that half inch a big deal? LA Ca has some pretty crazy steep driveways and slopes.

I wouldn't worry about it; you won't feel much difference!
Yes you'll scrape on LA steep driveways but it's mostly from driving carelessly rather than the lower holder.

My 50th anniversary has lower lip plus the holder (longer) sticks out more than yours. The license plate or frame would scrape before the holder would.

I have scraped my plate frame a couple of times (not a big deal) but if you're careful you should be fine.

My 1LE has the same lower lip. I CRAWL like a snail when pulling in and out of those areas but even if a small amount of scrap is pulling and pushing on that lip. I just don't want to work it over time and it becomes loose.

Damn I hate living here.

That's why I went with the zl1 addons tow hook plate mount option instead of the sto n' sho for my wife's Camaro. Ebay also has a really cheap one, like 10 bucks cheap that mounts on the side of the front grill, similar to the tow hook area, but you have to drill two small holes underneath.
