Long shot - Mystery Nut?

This a long shot to ask anyone if they recognize this bolt. The other day I found it on my driveway right behind where I park the Camaro. After last weeks wheel hoping at the track I thought oh no. First thought was my half shafts, jacked up car and could not find any missing nuts on a bolt. It might not even be mine, but that’s the same blue paint that they mark the half shafts.
It’s clearly not anything to do with my half shafts, not even close to same bolts/ nuts.

Mystery Nut?

Obviously a long shot, and even harder to tell based on a photo, BUT.....I had a nut like that holding one of the engine bay braces to the firewall. I had to remove mine to mount my UPR catch can. Bolt does NOT get re-used, so it coulda been lying under the hood and forgotten about?

LONG shot I know, but trying to contribute, lol!

Thanks for input, will check the braces. I have drop more then a few bolts in my engine bay and that bottom engine tray does not give easy access. Still waiting for a few sockets to reappear.

1st thing that came to mind when I saw the picture is it looks like the nut to a seat bolt. I’m not able to go outside and check at this moment but thought id throw that out there!

Man, you’re probably right. When I put in my Kirkey’s I probably had one laying around inside the car and it found it’s way out the door when I was messing around with the car. Whew, I feel better. Thanks

It was a very lucky guess! It just seems too clean to be an exterior part. lol!

That appears to be a nut that holds on the rear exhaust hangers. Look under your rear bumper and see if one of the 4x nuts (2x per side) are missing on the aluminum hangers.

Either way, it’s a wide flange nut meant to cover adjustable holes/slots of some sort.

I will check it out and report back. Thanks.

Edit: exhaust hangers are fine. Did another check under car, didn’t find anything missing.

That’s good news, I first thought my wheel hop at the track did something major. Either way if it’s the seat nut or exhaust nut I am glad.

Looks like one of the nuts for the rear-most exhaust hanger brackets.

What wrench size is it? 10mm, 13mm, 15mm? Can't tell from pics.
