Can launch control be adjusted in HPTuners?
Anyone know if this is possible? I haven't hooked the tuner to my car yet so I'm not sure if there is a table in there for the launch control or not. Sure would be nice if we could adjust the RPM limit.
If not, is there anyone that makes an adjustable 2-step for these cars? Maybe the vettes have something we could use?

I have the same question. From what I can see in HP tuners in my tune file, there are no adjustments in the ECM file to adjust launch control based on looking at the descriptions.
Under the idle section, there is a launch assist idle rpm, but the description says it is for manual transmissions. I have an A8 and the table is zeroed out. So I'm not sure if maybe this is control by the TCM or another module? or maybe there are no other tables and maybe, in an automatic, it is controlled by brake torque management? And then maybe launch control uses the same wheel slip algorithm as normal traction control does? I will change raise the brake torque management torque by 20% and report back. There is also a setting, that is enabled stock, that says if enabled, brake torque management can be disabled by traction control events. So I'm not sure if this means, when you put it into competitive mode and disable traction control, that its using something special when you do launch assist/control. I feel like if we could understand this we could go a long way to getting better launches. I'm surprised how so many people say they don't use launch control at the track, and when they do they go slower? I would like to tune the TCS for a little more spin to see if it would help, anyone else ever experiment with drag radials and traction/launch control? |

I have a stick shift car, ill buy the credits and hook the tuner up tomorrow and see what mine looks like. I didn't use launch control at first but after getting coached up by a fellow forum member I started using it properly. My 60's got a lot better and more consistent. I had a 1.88 60 the other night on stock runflats using launch control but like i said, mine is a M6 car. Cant speak for the autos.

I gave up on stock and was only able to get to 1.93s on the runflats without LC. When you say using LC properly, do you mean not just dumping the clutch? I did read somewhere that LC is not tunable, but you can't beleive everything on the Internet.

slip the clutch using launch control, don't dump it. Stage as shallow as possible. Try to be the first in the lanes to run after the slick tire classes or after the track is prepped. 26-27 psi in the rears. about a 3 sec burnout in 2nd to get heat in the tires.

LC is not adjustable in the calibration file that HPT/EFilive has access to. When Chris White added LC to his car several years ago I followed along on the process. I think he had a 2009 Vette and LC had just came out on the 2010 Vette. Since he programmed for GM and knows the ins/outs of their programming he added it to his car, I remember him saying the programming change was in the BCM in order to get it added.
He goes by GTPrix on this board and any other board on the interwebs. Shoot him a message and ask him. |

Here is the page from the C6 Vette forum where Chris talks about adding it.

Correct, the launch control settings are in the BCM and are not editable.
I did however find a 2 step from LPE. http://www.lingenfelter.com/PRI2014s...014%20v1.0.pdf That should do the trick.
