ZL1 Order From Accepted back to status 1100?

Hey guys,

I submitted an order to a Chevrolet Dealership back in April of 2022 for a new ZL1, and feel like I've been going through the ringer on it.

I typically check in with the GM Agent through their website chat twice or so a week and the order was finally accepted on 10/07/2022 (or thereabouts) and was working to a TPW up until last week.

Though, last Thursday the build seemingly reverted back to status 1100 with the explanation from the GM Agent saying that it was "Re-Edited" and now I'm seemingly back to square one.

Has this happened to anyone else? My current order number is CBDR3H for reference.

Id ask in the status thread DC Chevy Sales (?) to look at the status and verify what the chat has given you. In all my trials at getting my car and following those updates that I ever saw an edit and back to 1100 before. I'm pretty sure we've seen >1100 and a edit but the car continued on as it should have. Must have been a piece of equipment constrained and had given an erroneous allocation is all I can logically see there.

Thanks, I'll give that a go as well. After another session with 2 agents it's definitely confusing.

One agent (phone) says the order is accepted, the other said it wasn't (live chat) and my dealer is showing not accepted.

It probably went to the infamous 2000 Order Edited and then back to 1100. Chat probably figured it was accepted because it was at 2000.

From what my dealer let out on Monday it had reached status 2030 and held there for about a month. Though, still not formally accepted.

I've been saving the chat logs from GM where it was communicated to me that the next phase was identifying a target production week.

The amount of miscommunication from GM is a fair bit frustrating, and after 7 months at 1100 to go back to 1100 definitely put me on notice.

Ask your dealer for a screen shot of the Event History. It will tell you everything. 1100 is often confused because of the description "Preliminary Order Accepted" and not the good 2000 description of "Accepted by GM". The 2030 means nothing good because your order is still basically at 1100.

This is hugely helpful, I really appreciate it!

That's going to be of no use to you, you'll get the car when GM produces it unless you just wash your hands of the whole thing of your own accord but you've got no recourse with any one over it.

If it helps at all... I ordered my 2SS Convertible on April 30th 2022. I had an order number and followed it and tracked it on the Chevrolet.com chat until the end of September. And then whenever I put the order number in, the chat would ask 'is this order for a Corvette'? I would say no, and I would be put onto a 'real' assistant in the chat.

They then couldn't find my order and told me to contact the dealership. I called a couple of times but my sales person wasn't in the office - away on training - and they couldn't find my order. So at the beginning of October I went into the dealership and spoke in person and find out that my order number had changed to a completely different number.

I was given an allocation a couple of weeks later and then a TPW of 11/7 which has since come and gone. I am still checking Chevrolet.com chat and it still states the vehicle has been accepted and headed for production, so still not out of the woods yet.

I texted my salesperson on Monday, to follow up, a week after the original TPW, and he said that GM hasn't updated the build yet, so he doesn't have a VIN or scheduled delivery for me yet, but will let me know as soon as he hears anything.

I would check directly with your salesperson.
