Steering wheel trim pieces - help!
Last night the little plastic piece surrounding my cruise control button just fell off - no trauma to it or anything.
Chevy dealership tells me they don't sell the trim piece so I need a whole new steering wheel, which will cost $600 total with installation. somebody tell me that there's a company out there that makes these kind of things! UPDATE - just found the whole cruise control switch piece on GM parts direct for $46. why the hell would a dealership tell me I needed the entire steering wheel? |

Or you could go faaancy with these carbon fiber replacements: https://carbonplug.com/6th-gen-camar...l-control-trim. Quite a bit more than $46, I know, it's just an idea.
By the way, I'm not 100% sure that switch includes the fake chrome trim, too, check the parts breakdown below. The switch is #6 and the trim piece is #9 with no distinct part number, which might be why the dealership is telling you to get an entire steering wheel (#1)... then again, I'd just get the trim piece from ebay.
