Back to the track again on Saturday the 29th. Time slips/vids loaded
I had planned another drag day on Saturday but conditions don't look favorable for 9.70s but still may go anyway do try and win my Street Class. Got beat by a 2002 Ls Turbo Camaro in the semis and I got out on him so he had to hit the scramble button to get past me. I ran 9.94@140 and he ran 9.79@144, the only way we knew who won was when his win light flashed, it was close, the old man got out on the young buck. Getting to the 9.70s this Saturday will be tough since its going to be in the upper 70s to low 80s and pretty high winds in the 15 to 25 from the SWS and I'm sure DA won't be in my favor either. So just working on my lights will be the key. We are going to add that timing we need for the better 60ft times and running in the cooler air we might be able to improve on the 9.86 but it better be before 11am, after that the heat moves in. Then just one more weekend after that and the track will close. Right now the extended forecast calls for upper 50s on the 29th. That will be the ideal time to get in the 9.70s. It could change in the next 9 days so its a crap shoot.

Mike and I are going to work on the tune this morning. If I go 1st pass tomorrow morning would be about 10am so the hourly looks to be about 65 degrees which is not bad at all. Going to be pretty windy but a helping wind but the trip home could be a little squirely with 15 to 30 mph winds.

Not going today, too high of winds at 20 to 30 mph, especially traveling to the event which is 155 miles. Next weekend looks to be real good in the mid 60s. Lets hope that hold. Mean time I'm putting the stock wheels and tires back on to do a little driving.

Mike and I worked on the tune some more today and we're ready to load and head to the track tomorrow. We run Saturday morning at about 10am, temps should be about 60 degrees and lower DA again. I will post timeslips on Saturday.

Not sure how you did the last few runs in the 9s man. I finally got to the track in my maggie 2650 only ZL1. Not great. Car dead hooked and I got no knock the whole run. Best I could do in 2k DA was 10.94@128. That was all she had. Logs were clean, no knock nothing. I even saw 24* of timing at the top of the runs. Not sure why.

Right now we are just trying to keep it from pulling too much timing on the launch, the TCM/ECU are dealing us the blow with the Torque Management or we could run faster if the trans was unlocked, I'm just not spending the $900 it cost to change the TCM at this time. Maybe this winter.

I agree on the ET and trap speed. My 16ss with basically a Magnuson tune and 2300 except for a PE change and drag pack ran 10.82@129.88 on its first trip to the track and that was on 93 octane fuel. His car has so much more potential, but something seems to be missing.

Someone mentioned weight. I've never weighed mine, but when i use hp/et/mph calcs, using 4100 lbs makes the math work out right, and seems about right based on what i know about stock weight. A weight reduction of a couple hundred pounds makes a big difference.

The LT1 has higher compression than LT4 so boost-for-boost you’ll make more power on the SBE LT1…until it grenades lol.
