I ran an update (as prompted) by the head unit last night when I got home.

Today I don’t have seat coolers anymore. Switch and lights for them appear to work.

I didn’t think to test the heaters, I’ll do that tomorrow.

Coincidence?

Further intrigue. Heated seats not working, but the switch shows them on.

I can hear the blower for the cooled seats running when the switch is on, but no airflow to speak of at the seat. Anybody know where I can find a page from the manual describing the airflow path from the blower to the seat? It acts like an airline somewhere developed a leak or got disconnected.

They just suck from underneath. They are ventilated, not air conditioned. There is a tube that runs from under the seat to the bladder that the air blows out the little holes from.

Yeah, the airflow is relatively weak even at max (level 3) speed. Turning the A/C on and blowing cold air down towards your legs will significantly improve it (if everything is working as it should, of course).

Fixed! Topic solved

Hello,
Thanks to the input from our colleagues raidaru and ejik418 we managed to find the root-cause.
All symptoms are connected:
- heating/venting not working
- unnecessary triple door unlock command
- driver's seat memory not working
The problem lies with the BCM and can be fixed with single command executed from diag computer.
Command is named "Read LIN Bus Device ID Information", this brings you to the list of modules but ignore them and go straight for the "Update" button - pressing it fixes all instantly.
I have attached photo from diag computer.
I hope it will help some other forum users (to avoid replacing modules or exchanging seats/modules with other working cars, or trying to look for error codes like 3 of us did).

Best regards,
Jarek

I am marking this topic as solved!

Where does one get the diagnostic application to run this? Assuming it's a dealer/mechanic exclusive?

Yes - you need to have good mechanic for that - best specializing in electronics with proper tool set.
I assume mine has dealer level computer, however I posted the command name so that any mechanic can check with their devices if this is visible/usable for them (if not go to dealer).

BR,
Jarek

Thanks for getting back to the topic with the solution, Jarek. Makes even more sense if what happend was that a module got replaced (at some point) and thus IDs didn't match before you executed this re-read command.

Hi arpad_m

In our case even after the module replacement of the module this command was not executed by the service people and problem remained (this was the case for ejik418 - until he went to dealer service) no errors were reported.

BR,
Jarek

Tried that stuff that Jarek said it worked for him but I didn't get so lucky. After I execute that function it sends me to a sub menu of stuff related to windows and from there I can't do jack! Here is the vid https://www.veed.io/view/996f1e0a-11...6-172c9a20a10d

The update command at the bottom doesn't do anything?

Hi Raidaru,

I double checked with my electronics guy today - and just as Keko suggested - it is the "Update" button that does the trick.

BR,
Jarek

Just a follow up. I did what Jarek recommended and have a diagnostic tool to go through the bcm update. It populated all the models and all system back to normal. Anyone near me needs help, DM me.
