Love mine as well. I can actually see things behind my car now at night.

I was gonna say that at least halogens would be easier to swap out should they fail(versus the whole taillight for an LED assembly), but then I realized that, with how much reverse lights get used, the LED bulbs should last the life of the car, or at least they wouldn't fail before the brake lights or running lights, which come on more often.

The annoying thing is that you have to hack the LEDs in some way(either with a small resistor or a harness) to make them work properly. At least on my RX-8, I could just plug and play LED with zero issues. Most other cars seem to be like this as well.

My C7 had LED reverse lights, so it's probably penny-pinching on the Camaro.

Just as a footnote, there was a guy at a Tacoma forum that tested a bunch of bulbs in reverse lights, and actually found that the brightest bulb is not an LED. It's an HIR incandescent that you can retrofit into the socket. It actually put out more light since it utilized the housing better than LEDs as it's still an omnidirectional light(LED is directional) while the HIR coating made the bulb burn brighter on roughly the same wattage. The Tacoma uses 921 bulbs, so I don't know if such an option exists for 7440 sockets. It's not the prettiest as it's still a halogen bulb so it emits a yellowish light, but it would be easier to retrofit with no resistor or harness required and would give better light output if that's your goal.

The LED Harness isn't that hard to retrofit on the Camaro and in my opinion is well worth the effort as it affords a TREMENDOUS amount of rear view lighting...

How did you attach the resistors? Planning on doing my install Saturday.

The harness is pretty expensive, though. 90 US plus shipping to Canada, and we are looking at at least 150 Canadian. I already spent a lot on these LEDs. VLEDs bulbs aren't cheap, but their quality is pretty good.

That's why I thought I'd try the resistor first. 2 dollars for a pack of 4.

Okay I have a question. I have a 2021 zl1 at very little to no light at night in reverse the screen is dark, shadowy, I can barely see what's around around me and at the two top corners is a dark patch in each corner. The dealer can't duplicate the problem I've taken it twice which they don't have the background and with the lighting of the lot the place to really check it. I can see stuff in the daytime but I think the screen is a little fuzzy which I can deal with but need to be able to see at night that's more important.

Now my girlfriend has a 2019 2SS and under the same little to no light condition we can see everything.

Was my girlfriend 19 camera a luck of the draw or did y'all have the backup camera issues like I have with my 21? I don't want to add the led kit if I don't have to. Cause if I have an electrical issue then I have to pull that stuff off cause if they find it they may try to link that to the troubles.

I just ordered the iJDM ones mentioned in here - going to try them this weekend. Is anyone having any problems with them? It says it doesn't stay lit and doesn't interfere with the backup camera - does it cause battery drain? Winter is coming here soon and the car will possibly sit for a week or 2 without being started.

Thanks!

Update - the ones from Ijdmtoy work! They don't stay on and don't cause the backup camera to stay on. All the others I tried had both issues

these from Diode Dynamics along with their resistors worked best for me

They have figured out the resistance problem all right, I have their turn signal bulbs in the front (mine is a 2018) and those are perfect, too, no hyperflash with just the bulbs and zero extra harness or resistors.
