Distorted Glass

I just picked up my 2023 convertible, and I have noticed there is a spot in the glass that distorts the view in the mirror. This distortion is not present in the mirror with the top down.
When I had my 2016, the dealer replaced the top due to glue/glass separation. The replacement top had this same issue and had to be replaced a second time. Is this issue that common, or do I just have really crappy luck.

using a better glue to fix the glass and getting the removable top checked up is it properly aligned or not.

I've already gotten used to the rearview camera in the mirror. If my rear glass has a flaw I wouldn't know. It's already been tinted.

Glue issue was my old car. I have a 23 that I just bought a week ago that has the issue looking out the back window. It has a fun house effect in certain areas. For example, looking at a Silverado in the mirror, it looks shorter than a sedan.

I have been trying. Still slightly distracting as it is all movement without a stationary frame of reference.

Possible solution - drive faster - then it doesn’t matter what’s behind you!

(My sympathies to you, seems like there’s a lot of rear glass issues. My 2017 vert is OK…)

My 16 had the glass separation issue. Top was replaced under warranty. New top had the distortion issue. Top had to be replaced again. No issues with the second. I just thought that was some fluke. Never would have expected it again on a new 23.

Something else to think about. Even with the top up, the window is under tremendous turbulence when the windows are down. This will over time, cause issues with delamination from the movement caused by wind. If you have a wind deflector, always use it even with the top up and the windows down. It will still cut down on that wind inside the cabin. Plus when you also roll down the windows, be sure to roll the quarter windows down as well as that seems to help. Just some things I've noticed in the month since mine was delivered.
