K&N Blackwing Cold Air Intake
I’ve been told over and over that K&N is junk it’ll take away horsepower to go with a RotoFab the Blackwing has a dry filter I haven’t Dynoed before and after installing it but my 2020 Camaro LT1 A10 went 11.97@117.95 Dyno 404 rwhp stock then after installing the K&N Blackwing & Ported Throttle Body I went 11.66@119.74 so it can’t be too shitty of a Air Intake any thoughts

Were the track conditions exactly the same? Plus you're factoring in a ported throttle body as well

Temp was about 10 degrees colder so I know that helped but 3 tenths I could see if it was a negative DA or 20 degrees cold that Ported Throttle Body was good for 4hp 8tq on my last car

The difference in the 60ft and DA is definitely helping a little along with the ported TB. So as you can see you really can't tell if the CAI helped or not. From what I've seen these open element type CAI's may dyno a few more hp, but in reality might lose power once the hood is shut due to more heat soak. Personally I'm more a fan of the closed type systems, or even a drop in filter and intake tube change. The open style ones tend to sound a bit better though

Nice. My buddy's 2018 1SS with the A8 weighed 3690 lbs with a half tank of fuel, and ran 11.9 at 115 bone stock. It dynoed 390 rwhp. So your car is right where it should be based on those track conditions. I love the LT1 option

Especially for the price car was $37,600 out the door with Dual Mode exhaust, rear spoiler and Bose sound system my 2017 Camaro SS was $3800 more with no options

Exactly. And for what you're trying to do the LT1 makes much more sense. Something interesting I found out the other day is that a LT1 has the same starting price as a 5.7 Hemi Challenger. A 455 hp/3600 lb car vs a 375 hp/4100 lb car for the same price makes the LT1 a fantastic bargain

Yeah that's really good. I have a 2018 V6 (my daily) and a 700 hp 2000 LS1 SS as my weekend/summer toy. Got my V6 brand new for 27k with the A8, RS package, and technology package. Hell just throw on a drag radial and you'll drop a half second from that alone lol
