Steering column

If you look down through your steering wheel, is your column level or not?
Mine is tilted to the right quite a bit in relation to the dash.

The column tilts up and down, but not side to side.
It should not be tilted to the right.

If it is really tilted to the right, and not just an illusion I would take it in and have it checked out.

Its quite obvious if looking straight forward that the dash on all 5th's 1st appears off center, inturn the steering wheel seems to be, but its not.............the benzel is the culprit. It is not equal width from the center towards the left and center towards the right.

I Have noticed the off center clusters also. That is a question for another day. Mine is the whole column, including where the ignition is located, is off level tilted down to the right. Very distracting for me when driving.

Also the instrument clusters are set at a strange angle compared to the dash. I do wonder why they designed it that way. Seems that I am driving down the road a little sideways in the seat.

Its not a safety issue. More of a cosmetic one. You will see the crooked gap more when the steering wheel is pulled out and tilted down a little.

The picture shows the uneven gap where the yellow lines are. This is just a random picture off of the net.

Is there a way to fix this?

Mine is that way too. Probably just a minor design flaw.

Checked my SS- Steering column lines up perfectly with the dash above it. Get it checked.

Have you made contact with a dealership to see if this is something to be concerned about?

Not yet Brandon. I have seen this in many pictures so far. Not much in the steering area is straight and level it seems.

dont worry the dealer will tell you either its an acceptable blemish or they compared it to other vechicles and its within the norm (ya thats what I was told and acceptable blemish) and they will do nothing for you to fix it. My dual mode exhaust is off by at least and inch or more from one side to the other and its acceptable to them.
