so i drove a m6 yesterday what a difference!!!

So I work a car dealership and we took a 2011 camaro ss m6 in on trade with 12 miles. Needless to say i had to test drive it
I have had my l99 for 2 yrs now and i love it. I never drove the ls3 before. Holy sh!t what a difference. I really did not expect it to be such a different car. It hauls a$$. I took off the traction controll and dumped it in first from a dead stop and it just smoked the tires straight through to third gear. Even when i punched it in second gear drivin down the road it was like a rocket.
I would never trade in my car because i dont like having to drive a manual everyay, but for anyone who has not baught yet i would deff drive them both. Now i am dying to get my car tuned and lt`s on it.

A tune with some torque management reduction (or elimination) will really wake up an L99 car. While a custom tune is top dog (especially if you have some mods done) even a handheld tuner is a great option. One cool thing about them is you can use them for a while and have fun but once you've outgrown them mod wise, you can always remove the tune and sell the tuner to make some money back.

12 miles? Trade from an individual or another dealer?

I test drove both and settled on the LS3 M6 because of the difference in power. The M6 can be clunky at times when driving slow and easy but when its it rocket mode its smooth as glass.

Why do people insist on beating on cars they don't own????

What dealership do you work for? Your manger know you were beating on a fresh trade in????

Fiveg56. Do you just spend your life angry? Every post that I see you've commented on is in someway calling a person out. Lighten up a little.

Not looking for an argument but.....I have worked as a tech for many car dealers in my life and there were several that required we drive cars that way. I remember volvo had a fix for rough idle by driving in first gear at 500 RPM under redline for 5-7 miles and stating full throttle starts with stop and go to redline in first.
Eagle talon turbo's had to be beat to death right off the truck because they would not run if you didn't "Clean them out". the engine would get carboned up from stop and go's at the ports and factory.
I hear what your saying but it is necessary alot of times.

I misread the topic of this thread. I thought you were reporting that you got to test drive a BMW M6 not a Camaro SS M6!

Carry on!

Yeah, get your car tuned and it will make a big difference (a good tune).
My L99 A6 did feel a little sluggish before it was tuned.

But (tune only) I beat every stock LS3 M6 Camaro SS I raced at the track.
I ran 12.9x @ 108/109 mph (tune only) all day (no runs slower than 12.9x).

So I tell everyone with an L99 A6 to get a good tune.

Get a tune and a transmission converter along with a trans cooler. You'll be good to go.

Personally I had to have an M6 though. I love rolling through gears. Always have ever since I could drive. Doesn't matter the car. It's always better as a manual IMO.
