Where should tire shop lift car from?!

Guys just about to get my winter tires installed. Like I'm in the waiting room. Figured I'd quickly ask you guys if there's anywhere specific etc that they should hoist the camaro from?

I know with a floor jack it's specific spots. But a shop hoist?

Its best if the use jack pads and lift from the pinch welds (the same place that you would use a floor jack or jack stands at home).

This car should only be lifted from the pinch welds, a shop can use other area's if done right, but GM clearly outlines the only place the car should get lifted from is the pinch welds.

Thanks guys. I let them know. Car is gone in now for the tire swap. I'll post up in the tire section later on today with pics and what not.

Currently -18°C/ 0°F. Light snowfall last night.

Figured it was time to switch from the F1A3's to winter tires...

Check your manual. It's in there.

I ordered a 3"x2" high puck today on amazon. It has the pinch weld cutout in the puck. It was $14.

How is jacking a car up such a repeating issue with the car? the places to jack the car up are outlined in the owners manual. Even without that, they designate the areas by notching out the pinch welds under a car. It's been done like that for decades on uni-body cars all the way back in the early F-Body days. Maybe earlier.

Not sure why that's an issue for some body shops / people. It seems like a pretty straight forward thing. Never had to look it up. Do you even take your car back to a place that doesn't know how to jack your car up? To me, that would be an instant fail on any current / future business.

For future reference to fellow forum members..remember this next time I ask a question that I can find the answer in my manual...

My dog ate my owners manual the day I brought my car home.

I'm serious.
