Hmm, I bought the same ones. As a matter of fact I saw your review on Amazon. I did the same thing changing the tape to a nice velcro. The problem I had (most recently) is the ones I bought self destructed. The front and back plastic sections that retain the net pull apart (very easily). I tried siliconing the sections together, but it just wouldn’t hold (seems to be a common issue, by reviews) So, those went in the trash (unfortunately). I left a scathing review.

I have the same setup as JSkully, but used an indelible marker to make the optional white stitching, black. Looks really good and a well made product. The issue I have with storing the phone in there is that it overheats when charging (early model IPhone). Other stuff gets stored in them now, unless I’m not charging the phone, then all is right with the world.

Oh well, sorry to hear you got a junk specimen. These randomly changing vendors are unfortunately not reliable long term. My nets are still as good as on day 1, and I use the driver side one almost every time I drive the car (unless my phone needs charging, because then it lands on the charging pad).

Yep, I agree on the vendor / demise of the original design. It looks as though the most recent reviews are denoting both falling apart and double sided tape. Where as the tape was the most prevalent issue denoted when you bought yours.But to add a bit of perspective, you don’t really drive that beast as much as you really should!

I keep mine on my passenger seat as I'm usually the only one in my car. Except when my K9 partner posed for pictures.
