Why do the stock SS Tires have different heights?
Hi Guys,
just trying to learn: Why do the stock SS Tires have different heights (40s in the front & 35s in the rear)? What are the advantages of a setup like this? |

Heights are pretty much the same.
The sidewall percentage is different. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=534181

Ah i see, so the height is actually based on percentage not on a total mm amount. Thanks |

Sidewall height is a percentage of the tire width. The wider a tire is, it can have a smaller sidewall aspect ration and still maintain the same sidewall height as a narrower tire.
Example 305/30-20 rear versus 285/35-20 front The rear is 27.20" tall and the front is 27.85" tall for a difference of around 1/2".

Would a square setup be better or worse?
