Flowmaster American thunder question.

This may be a stupid question. But here goes.
I have the American thunder dual exhaust for non npp exhaust. Is it possible to add another outlet to turn it into a quad tip exhaust? I'm getting the rear diffuser for the quadtip system and I'm not going to spend another $500 to $800 on a new exhaust. Any suggestions or ideas?

Yes and no. The angle of the tip on my exhaust is small and quick and is not in the right position to just add a dual tip. Just trying to get ideas on a way to get quad tip without buying a new one. This is what I have.

Ahh, I see. I’m actually in the same boat because I want the quad tipped MBRP Exhaust but I already have Borla Atak on mine that I’m thinking of reselling. Wish I could’ve helped but good luck!

Well you could sell your current exhaust so you'd only be out of a couple hundred dollars the most. IMO the flowmaster is best sounding exhaust out there so you shouldn't have any problem selling it.

Thought about that, just don't want to get a new one. gonna go by a muffler shop and see what can be done to add the second tip. I want it to be functional. Not just a tip. I was thinking i could just cut the pipe off and have a new one welded on at the correct angle and weld on a dual tip. Probably the simplest solution right there.

Due to the lack of additional room in the rear of the Camaro you will need to go with a much shorter than conventional exhaust tip. The exhaust tip that is included with the American Thunder Axle-back is 5.25" in length. We offer a dual exhaust tip that just may fit. This is a weld on style, stainless steel tip with a 3.50" outlet. It fits 2.50" piping and measures 6.75" long by 7.50" wide. You can click on the picture below for a link to the item or you can give us a call at 707-544-4761 for additional information.

Hi old thread I know but was curious how the muffler shop switched your single tip into quad and what style tips they used to do it? I am switching my rear diffuser to quad ikon motor sports one and would like to tell my exhaust guy what works since I have the single tip set up. Thanks for any help.

Had mine done on my 2016 Camaro, DO NOT Cut a hole and add a second port. Terrible drone from hell. I had it done, then quickly turned around and had the hole welded up inside the new tips.
