That red Whipple in that black engine bay looks killer. Congrats! Y’all have some bad storms headed your way. All of you folks stay safe out there.

I can also strongly recommend you visit Copenhagen Denmark, if you have not already been there. It's where I'm from and I still work there, even though I moved to Sweden just a few years ago.

I was in Copenhagen right before going to Stockholm and stayed by the Forum subway station. Think the name of the street was Niels Ebbesens. Had a good time there. The weather in Oslo was not favorable at that time so didn’t go. Will have to visit Finland and Norway along with a second round of Denmark and Sweden. Hopefully during the warmest months.

What a coincidence

I've been to the US 7 times and every time it was a blast. For 5 consecutive years, through 2012 and 2017 me and my girlfriend has been doing road trips there. We have gone cross country from New York to Los Angeles twice. We have been talking a lot about going to the US again. We miss it.

Last two years we have been road tripping in Europe.

For now, it looks like the borders will continue to be shut down throughout the summer.

I haven’t decided if I’m keeping it like this yet or not, but this weekend the bottom trim on my steering wheel started peeling, so I wrapped it in some 3M carbon fiber vinyl I had lying around. What do you guys think?

Smile Slight update on LED reverse lights

FWIW-
I have checked the battery voltage repeatedly after installing the LED reverse lights and resistors.
I have seen nothing out of the ordinary, even after the car has sat in the garage for several days.
And no ghost lighting or other effects either, so the BCM or whatever module is monitoring the bulb conditions is satisfied.

A geek-ish moment-
I did some research and found that at least one manufacturer of automotive drivers for lights (Infineon) considers 680 ohms to be a "threshold" resistance for filament loss sensing purposes.
They also mention a maximum 125 microamperes as a sensing current, at least in one of their products.
That translates to a sensing threshold voltage of around 85 millivolts and makes perfect sense.
I measure about 0.4 millivolts across the load resistors I am using (as close as my Fluke DVM can measure) which would be a test current of 67 microamperes.
So it all fits.

Most likely any load shunt resistor in the 300-500 ohm range would be safe.
But I have the 6 ohm ones installed so that's where they will stay.

Regarding the load shunt resistors:
1. Is that in series or parallel to the leads on the LED?
2. Am I correct to assume there is one resistor for each LED?

The resistance would be in parallel to the power leads on each LED device.
That is to say across the power leads or terminals for the "bulb".

Yes, there must be a resistor present in parallel for each and every bulb position being monitored.
Modern cars with CAN bus diagnostics typically use semiconductor switching devices that are "one per bulb" or perhaps one per bulb string.
They also typically are high side switches (pull up to battery +) to minimize corrosion effects when the bulbs are turned off.

I recently ordered side marker LED replacement lights for both of our cars because I liked the backup lights so much.
I was careful to order "CAN-ready" units, which in practice means that they have integrated resistors across their power leads.
That is in addition to whatever is being used to limit current through the LEDs themselves (resistors or ICs).
If you look closely at some of the ones offered you can actually see chip resistors between the connection tabs.
In some photos you can even see their values.
If you then add them up they are typically well below 680 ohms (surprise, surprise).

I also ordered a complete set to convert my CBX over to LED lighting 100% and already have an LED headlight in it.
But is is far too old to have or care about light monitoring.
So other than also having to replace the blinker relay it should be happy.
It only has a 24 amp alternator so every little savings helps.

I finally deleted the factory mechanical sound enhancer. I plugged the fitting on the intake tube with the extra lug nut cover that I received from ColorLugs, and I plugged the hole in the firewall with the factory part for non-SS models.

It is very nice not having to listen to the dumb thing, isn't it?
Not one of the auto manufacturer's brighter ideas IMHO.
Technically they are called "sound symposers" and have been fitted to everything from Porsches to Ford Focus cars.
I removed the one on my car very shortly after purchasing it and have never even for one second regretted doing it.

If you may be interested, here is a short article on them-

Mine turned 2 years old this week. 16k miles now. Still in love with her. Even drove her to work today...
