Will anyone offer an aftermarket replacement for the NPP exhaust?
Hear me out. When I order my car, I would like to order the NPP option not so much for the actual exhaust itself, but for the software and hardware. It would be pretty cool if aftermarket companies eventually offered a replacement for the NPP exhaust that you could install and plug into the NPP harness at the rear. I know the NPP sounds good as it sits but I'm sure A/M companies could come up with an even better sounding exhaust that could take advantage of the software and hardware. And possibly track mode could be a cutout just prior to the muffler or something. Hey, a drag strip is still a "track" right?
I'm not sure there would be a huge demand which might hurt the chances of this happening but it would still be a cool option for those that get the NPP and want to change out the cat back at a later date but retain the ability to switch noise and performance levels. |

I feel at some point someone will. It seems to me that nearly everyone is getting NPP. There is a lot of money to be made with an aftermarket exhaust that works with it but also makes it better.

Pretty sure Borla makes one for the C7...if someone does for the Camaro, it will be quite costly. I am going to remove the extra two non o2 equipped cats and that should add some volume.

Would be nice if they came out with just an axleback replacement for the giant muffler. It would be cheaper.

I have mentioned this a few times, but I had a friend that talked at length with the engineer in charge of the Dual Mode Exhaust on both the 5th gen and the 6th gen at the finding new roads event.
Gen 5 was one thing, he said that the Gen 6 is another animal completely and that it would be much more difficult, not to mention a HUGE waste of money to replace the Dual Mode on it.. The time and engineering that went in to that alone is really amazing.... Without a doubt someone will rip it off and replace it and talk about how much "better" it is.. Just the way we are. |

Yep. Borla does offer one for the Corvette. I've posted about it before. Them making one for the Camaro would be great, but I'm sure the price would be around $2,500 or so.
