I got around to installing the rear diffuser today to help with smoothing the air after creating the void resulting from the stock muffler delete.
Not the best instructions so it's not idiot proof but easy enough if you know your way around a garage. |

So I've been driving the car around straight piped and the damn thing is Thunderous! Everyone loves it and I get thumbs up pretty much everywhere I drive it. The pops when letting off the throttle are the stuff of LEGEND!
On the other hand, it's so loud that it's been bothering my conscience. hahaha So I bought two 20" MBRP universal Resonators off of Ebay (attached) with 3" inlet/outlet. I'm going to slip these on where the secondary cats used to be under the cabin. It'll probably quiet the 'rasp' down a lot but should still have that growl. Once I get these mounted I'll take another sound clip. |

Isn't it just amazing how huge and heavy the OEM muffler is?

Got everything installed today. The car is much quieter on idle and the cold start while still loud is not quite as bad as it was before.
The MBRP resonators greatly reduced the cabin drone. It can be driven now around town without being a nuisance, and when I go full throttle it really opens up since the resonators don't cause restriction. They still maintain the 3" diameter so flow is still maximized. Have to head back tomorrow morning to get the Wideband sensor relocated. |

Could you tell the "suitcase" void was creating a disruption in the handling?

My last two track days I really struggled with rear grip and the car felt terrible. I honestly think it came down to tire choice. I used a 320/660/18 Pirelli DH in the rear and according to the Corvette Forum those tires seem to want to snap oversteer mid corner which is what I experienced constantly. Supposedly those were designed as a front tire for the Viper so construction is suited for that instead of a rear tire option. I'm going to go back to the track with the 3Rs for a like for like comparison and I will get back to you.
