I had no issues with the original fluid on the street, but I haven't had to deal with cold weather here..... When it got hot on track, it got sort of balky, harder to find the right gear.

Ok, good to know. My car will never see temps below 60 degrees F. And I don't plan on tracking it. So I'm wondering if I should just stick with The Amsoil Signature series - seems to be widely used with no issues.

I did too, yet to install... the Tremec fluid was out of stock when I ordered. Good to hear it works well for you!

After doing more research, it looks like the Redline D4 ATF 30504 is the closest match in characteristics to Dexron III, in terms of viscosity etc...

IMHO, I don't see a better product available for 6060... Tremec gear matched to a gear oil specifically developed/engineered by the same company that developed/engineered the transmission.

Win/win for me.
Ok....well 4 quarts of Tremec HP-MTF coming my way. Just did 2 days at VIR in the summer heat and getting to about 225F trans temps at the end of 30 min sessions and occasionally got some balky shifts. I daily drive so will give some update on how it feels during normal driving as well. Have another track day (open track all day) in early September in Savannah Georgia so imagine will get some hot weather data as well. Thanks for all the good info.

Any updates from the Tremec trans fluid users? Cold condition shifts? Track day shifts in hot conditions?

My experience with the Tremec fluid was that shifting was rather balky when cold, but smoother at track temps than stock fluid.

I've switched mine over to RP Synchromax bout 6000 miles ago (I'm at 22k now). I'll say it's smoother shifting 1-2 when it's cool outside, but I don't track it so I don't have much feedback regarding track conditions. I've seen no negative effects so far in my daily driving from 20F-100F temperatures. I will say mine was very notchy in 1-2 (specifically getting it into 1st gear) with the factory fill, especially when it was below 50 degrees.

Most MT's I've driven tend to be a little notchy when cold and shifts like butter when hot. Just mechanics.

From experience, these ATF recommendations are no different from Engine Oil or Fuel debates....all subjective.

I would just stick with the GM recommended fluid and call it a day.

The TR6060 is already one of the sweetest MT's out there a close second to Porsches MT's.

Enjoy.

I used this, made by Tremec for all Tremec manual transmissions and the price was good...

Worked great on track, 4 days last month

I just ordered RP on Amazon today, have been wanting to do the fluid change for a while now. Also bought the red thread seal as Im going to change it through the sensor instead of making a mess. Any thoughts on doing it this way?

I used Tremec. I figure it is their transmission, why not?
