Is this a 6 piston brake package? Post a pic of your fronts. You can also look on the outer edge of the rotor for the part #s. Pull a pad and look at the inof printed/stamped on the backing plate.
If it's the 6 piston setup, you'll have no trouble getting pads and rotors

That part number is for the four-piston front brake package for the four and six cylinder cars. I believe the issue Doug is experiencing concerns this brake package (among other Brembo options for the sixth gens) having been "banned" in California due to the copper content in the brake pads. This resulted in a period of time, starting in DEC 2020, that SS and ZL1's could not be ordered in CA or WA: https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/12...nd-washington/
Around FEB 2021, GM also stopped offering CA and WA buyers the Y4Q option package for RS models. The heavy-duty braking component of the Y4Q package used the 4-piston Brembos. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/02...-in-ca-and-wa/ Because I have the Y4Q package on my 2021 RS (produced in DEC 2020, just under the wire), I will be following this thread closely. I was thinking it might be as simple as just serving the brakes with aftermarket pads (is there a Powerstop Z26 option for these?) An NHTSA bulletin indicated that there would be no problem with dealers servicing the non-compliant brakes on "Camaro models produced prior to January 1, 2021." The bulletin states dealers in CA and WA would not be able to service copper brake components on Camaros built on or after January 1, 2021. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...86096-9999.pdf Sourced from the following forum post: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=37 As stated at the end of the NHTSA bulletin, converting a vehicle to the Copper-free brakes is estimated to run $2,000-$7,000 - not the preferred option, or what anyone should expect to pay for a brake job! |
