THANKS!!!

Yeah,

They are supposed to have it back from CHUY'S on MONDAY. They are replacing my engine harness because apparently when the GM dealer replaced the FIRST LT1 engine under warranty they simply REPAIRED the harness instead of doing the CORRECT thing and replacing it.

AMP discovered this when we were having some strange codes with the LME 416 and they got it up on a lift and starting running some diagnostics.

The Engine harness was on national back order from detroit but it came in on friday and they are about halfway done installing it. While we were waiting on that, they removed the MSD so that it could be ported. We may try out an experimental intake bellmouth and larger intake air tube to see if we can increase the velocity of air going TO the 103. AMP is the absolute BEST at getting air in and out of these engines so I will let them try some of their magic. Along those same lines I ordered a Velossatech Ram Air system that we should have here by weds next week.

Well the problem was the codes were very intermittent. Each of the wires going to each of the sensors on the CONNECTOR end SHOULD be color coded. When you replace the connectors , the replacement connectors have wires that ARE NOT color coded (basically they are all WHITE wires). AMP know all this shit and also where all the wires SHOULD be insulated and with exactly what color and type of insulation and where all the installation tabs SHOULD be on the wiring harness. So.....when they started looking around they determined pretty quickly that the GM dealer REPAIRED the harness and used some non-factory wire insulators around the repaired wires.

My guess would be that GM probably would NOT allow them the labor hours that it requires to replace the harness (it takes a least a DAY) and instead authorized a repair ONLY. Seems kind of strange since the DID authorize the engine replacement since at the time I was basically stock on THAT engine.

Nice write up! You sir are braver than I. This is definitely a mod I foresee in my future, but not until my warranty is up. I can just see the look on my wife's face when something major happens and the dealer denies it because of something like an intake manifold. I had to convince her the CAI and exhaust were to improve the MPG's. Of course I did the same on her truck as well.

Well I'm kinda like that. When I bought my 16 SS I put a Magnuson 2300 on it with about 2000 miles on the ticker. Kept modding from there and when I sold it in 2020 it only had 12500 or so miles on it but make about 870 rwhp. I bought my C7 with 18,000 miles on it with a year left on the warranty but started modding it at about 20,000 miles and sold it with 32,500 miles. Then the 2022 Lt1 where I did E85/tune and Rotofab with about 800 miles on it. So I do take chances and this Camaro has about 3800 miles on it now and it was time to try and go a little faster with the LT2 and 95mm TB. I paid cash for the Camaro and if I need to at any point have to do repairs that is part of the gamble of modding. I'll fix it to run faster then when it broke, not planning on that happening.
What did you have to pay for the Katzkin leather seat covers.

I bought the kit online for $900 shipped, removed the seats myself and paid a local interior shop $400 to swap the cloth out and install the leather. Where I purchased mine at has gone up in price, but this place here has it much cheaper once you add them to your cart:
