TPMS Question
For anyone who has bought wheel/tire packages from Element Wheels...
"Aftermarket TPMS - Tire Pressure Monitoring System (Priced Ea.) (Excl. Tesla Model Y. Most New 2021+ models may require OEM)" This is what was apparently automatically added to my shopping cart when I had selected a wheel and tire package for my 2022 SS. Should I be deleting it and adding OEM? TIA! |

I have a set of aftermarket sensors in one set of my wheels. They work fine. I would get the cheap reset tool off Amazon and test the sensors out before you install them in the wheels. EDIT: oh, I'm guessing they are delivering the wheels and tires already mounted? I guess if they don't work you'll be doing the refund thing. But I think as long as they know what car you have, they should have no trouble installing sensors that work.

I just bought OEM TPMS for the wheel/tire package I'm getting mounted in a week or two. Paid $170 ($42.50 each) for 4, including the nuts, which was cheaper than the aftermarket ones Discount Tires wanted to install ($60 each). Was a no-brainer for me

Buy OEM. I've bought aftermarket ones once and 2 out of 4 didn't work.

You might want to check with DISCOUNT tire about buying the TPMS sensors. Down Here in Texas, they will mount the tires on your wheels for free if you buy the TPMS sensors from them and they are cost competitive on the sensors. I am pretty sure they do that EVERYWHERE,

Another vote for OEM. Bought a wheel/tire package and skimped on the sensors. Not only did all 4 sensors randomly fall off the system, but all for stems also went, leaving me with at least 1 flat on 2 occasions. Brought it in and had them all changed out for OEM, never had a prob after that.
